A wedding reading from the US Supreme Court

Justice Anthony Kennedy,authored the US Supreme Court’s ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. He closed his ruling and opinion with one of the most beautiful passages you’ll likely read in a court case. I totally teared up, and it’s a passage I’ll be incorporating into many marriage ceremonies.   No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. Marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. In case you’re not familiar with the passage, it’s a part of the larger Supreme Court decision in regards to legalising same-sex marriage in the USA. I firmly believe that the most important aspect of the wedding day is that moment where you become husband and wife, and if you were to pinpoint that moment, it’s your wedding vows. I often think about wedding vows and underwear being fairly similar. I don’t exchange underwear with other people, let alone strangers, and I wouldn’t exchange other people’s wedding vows. When you Google example or sample wedding vows you’re doing just that. Instead, you could prepare some of your own wedding vows and I’d love to help you do it!
