How to get a free honeymoon on Qantas points

Qantas just emailed me with with an offer to refer people to the American Express deal I’m on, and it got me thinking … there’s a free honeymoon in this deal. So here’s how it works: applying for this American Express (before October 9) and spending $3000 on it within three months, earns you 100,000 Qantas frequent flyer points. Plus every other cent you spend on the card you earn up to 1.25 Qantas points per dollar. So just say you book me for celebrant + MC + DJ, and put it all on your new American Express, that’s about 105,000 frequent flyer points before you pay for your photographer, videographer, and venue on the same card. Instead of direct debiting everyone, you send that cash to the Amex and pay it off. Here’s the winner though, you each apply for a card and one of you pays for one service, and another pays for another. Now you’ve booked a wedding … and you’ve got more than 200,000 frequent flyer points to spend, plus a $900...

My favourite part of your wedding is the ceremony of course, but then outside of the actual day you get married, my favourite is seeing how you felt about it all afterward. I was Emma and Sam’s wedding celebrant , but also their reception MC and their DJ! Check out their review below and thanks to Sydney Southern Highlands wedding photographer, the legend Dan Cartwright , for the photos. “When I first set out looking for a celebrant I was overwhelmed with the amount of people I found offering to do the job. It wasn’t until I happen – by chance or maybe it was a sign from the universe (who knows), that I came across Josh’s Instagram. From there it was an immediate choice that I wanted him to be the one to marry Sam & I. Josh was different from every other celebrant I had come across, he seemed to just emanate positivity, fun and the reality of the kind of marriage that we wanted to create. It may sound a bit strange but Josh was the first thing that I locked in for the wedding day, ...

To the wedding guests, a guide on how to attend a wedding

Hey, wedding guests, I’m talking to you today. There are two people getting married and you’re invited to celebrate with them. I know what you’re thinking, gosh, another bloody wedding but this is no ordinary wedding, this is their wedding, and it’s a miracle that they are even together. There’s a one in four quadrillion chance of them even existing, then for them to meet, and not hate each other, but to get together, and then to agree that they should spend the rest of their life together? That’s crazy and amazing and worth putting all of your family shit, friend crap, and weird expectations of what a wedding should be for just one day and prepare yourself to actually celebrate the couple. How do we do that you ask? Turn up to the ceremony about 15 minutes early, leave your camera bag in the car, and your phone in your pocket. Put a happy face on and rock up to the ceremony ready to party. Fill up the seats (they’ve literally rented them at $15 a piece so don’t stand around them awkw...
