Ricky and Amy's Flaxton Gardens Summer Wedding

Image
I met Ricky and Amy on a warm September weekend at the ninth best coffee shop in the world . This information is relevant purely because Ricky and Amy are the ninth best couple I know. If it wasn’t such a contentious issue I’d share the top ten, but let it be known that you definitely made the cut *wink*. Also, because Britt said I’m professionally not allowed to have favourites, this was also my ninth favourite wedding of the year. Seriously though I loved everything about Ricky and Amy, their wedding, their choice of venue, Flaxton Gardens , their choice of photographer, Ethereal Photography , their honeymoon destination of Bali and of course, their choice of ceremony! The wedding was in that magical and restful week between Christmas and New Years and as the ceremony began I swear the temperature dropped 3 degrees, a cool breeze picked up and some slight cloud cover came over and made everything just perfect. Ricky waited until he was the last person to see his brid...

Andrew and Cassie's Powerhouse Wedding | Newfarm Celebrant

Image
I always witness a little miracle when a wedding ceremony starts, the weather becomes “just right”. Goldilocks would be proud. It was on a hot Summer day in January on the upper level of the Brisbane Powerhouse that I witnessed the temperature drop a few degrees, the shade covered everything we needed it to cover so that we could celebrate Andrew and Cassie conquering the great divide to get married! I asked Cassie and Andrew to say a few words as well! When we first met Josh we knew that he would deliver the relaxed and snappy, but warm ceremony we were hoping for. He was always friendly and offered the ideas, inspiration and support that are so valuable when planning a wedding. Josh was happy for us to construct our own ceremony but delivered it in his own natural style which worked well. Our ceremony had the relaxed atmosphere we’d hoped for that set the tone for our reception with some guests commenting that it was refreshing to have a ‘short and s...

Fran and Esteban's Cinderalla Wedding

Image
Fran and Esteban’s wedding was the first domino to fall in a year-long celebration of their love, starting at the Hillstone St Lucia and ending in Chile. I began the ceremony with Dr Seuss’ ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’  and ended with some well practised Spanish. I can now happily present to you Marido y Mujer, Señor y Señora Opazo Fran and Esteban were such a beautiful couple to work with and Fran even spoke in depth about her wedding journey on Weddings Today, the wedding radio show. After the wedding Señor y Señora Opazo sent me some beautiful pics from Hillstone St Lucia taken by Linda Pasfield  and these amazingly kind words! We never met Josh in the first instance, he was someone we saw at a bridal expo as we were running out the door, though his signs to be a fun and different celebrant caught our eye. We found him through Facebook and were glad we booked him in straight away before meeting him. He gave a different...
