Andrew and Cassie's Powerhouse Wedding | Newfarm Celebrant
I always witness a little miracle when a wedding ceremony starts, the weather becomes “just right”. Goldilocks would be proud. It was on a hot Summer day in January on the upper level of the Brisbane Powerhouse that I witnessed the temperature drop a few degrees, the shade covered everything we needed it to cover so that we could celebrate Andrew and Cassie conquering the great divide to get married!
I asked Cassie and Andrew to say a few words as well!
I’m so lucky that I get to marry all of the coolest people!
In the ceremony one of Cassie’s bridesmaids, Caitlin, quoted Anna Karenina:
The question of ‘why marry?’ is often asked in modern times, and every individual has a different answer for or against the cause. Cassie and Andrew value marriage as ”a deeply personal commitment to another [person] and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family… [Marriage] fulfills yearnings for security… and connection that express our common humanity… and the decision whether and whom to marry is among life’s momentous acts of self-definition”
