Daniel and Toni became husband and wife on Slingsby’s Dairy Farm in Beechmont this November, and I really wanted everyone to hear their wedding planning story so I convinced them to share it via an Instagram takeover! You can follow along on the #hamiltonweddinginstagramtakeover Instagram hashtag on my account @joshuawithers or flick through the posts below.
Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! Flower girl dresses… where do I start?! I thought that organising dresses, shoes, hair and flowers for my littlies would be one of the easiest things for me to do… WRONG! Prospective brides out there… make sure you get on top of this ASAP! Our style was vintage-rustic… do you think I could find any decent dresses to match out theme? It was crazy! I ended up ordering some from a beautiful little online boutique and they were beautiful… In the end! The first ones I originally chose didn't have all the sizes I needed. The second style I chose came within a week to spare but… the sizes were slightly too big for two of my girls… AAARRRRRRGHHHHHH!!! Luckily, one of my friend's has a mum who is a dress maker… PHEW! She took the dresses, pinned up the straps and they were good to go! And… don't forget about the shoes. Surely coming into wedding season, they would have a multitude of beautiful little sandals for little girls… ummmm… NO! After a day of driving around, searching for shoes, we found some in Pumpkin Patch. They didn't fit perfectly but by that stage, I was over it! And finally, underwear; surely there would be plenty of nude coloured underwear for little girls in every single kids clothing store… Yep, wrong again! It took two weeks of searching every single store, utilising every single family member (and my family is massive!) to find some. Crazy right?! In the end, they looked absolutely gorgeous (thank goodness!) – Toni @tschl25 and photo by @specialmemoriesphotos

Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! Both my Mum and Dad were just amazing support the whole time. They helped us out with absolutely EVERYTHING and were always there offering support, time, energy, money… buying hundreds of succulents from the markets each weekend, repotting them in jars. My amazing aunties and uncles who gave up countless hours digging holes to set up our doors and arch, setting up the reception venue and organising vintage-rustic displays, letting us use all of their wedding hire equipment including cutlery, crockery and any other display items they had that we wanted to use and not to mention, one of my aunty and uncle's letting us get married at their farm! They went above and beyond re-doing their gardens, mowing the paddock at just the right time so that the grass wasn't too short or too long, digging out rocks that were in the way of the wedding cars; just unbelievable! – Toni @tschl25 and photo by @specialmemoriesphotos – florals and styling by All Budgets Wedding Hire

Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! Hair and make-up; easy peasy! I chose 3 wonderful women, who I have known for years, to do my hair and make-up, Sue Watt Beauty Therapy and @dyenaturallyhairstudio. They were super organised and very thorough and I loved my final look. During my trials I was honest (and a little picky) but it paid off in the long run. My makeup changed slightly and so did my hair and this was because the make-up and hair colour looked great in person, but in photos it came out too yellow (especially up against my pink hubby!) And if you are thinking of getting a fake tan, make sure you test it out on camera along with your make-up and hair! Nothing worse than seeing an Oompa Loompa standing next to a handsome groom! We started hair and make-up prep at 7am that morning, with the ceremony being held at 3:30pm. There was 1 bride, 4 bridesmaids, 4 flower girls and 2 other family members who were on the list and we were done before the photographers arrived at 12:30pm! Gees, they were good! I also tend to go blotchy when I'm stressed, anxious, sad, exciting… pretty much any emotion that may make my body temperature run hot! (lucky me!), and my natural (awesome) fake tan and make-up artist helped hide this (and of course, so did the photographer in editing!) – Toni @tschl25 and photo by @specialmemoriesphotos

Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! These table and chairs are the one thing I was adamant on getting to top off our theme. Yes, I could have used the cheap plastic ones in the hall and covered them with table cloths to save money, but this was the one thing I had my heart set on and I wasn't going to change my mind! I don't like cheap and tacky! As soon as I walked into the hall on the day of set up (after getting my awesome fake tan and freaking out whether or not everything was going to come together) I was blown away at how amazing the hall and table settings looked. We originally wanted an outdoor reception but just didn't want to risk it during storm season. The fairy lights draped low from beam to beam mimicking a starry night sky, and the countless earthy displays around the hall, made it seem as if we were at a barnyard reception; just stunning! I was also told countless times by friends and family to not have candelabras with naked flames but our night went off without an arsonist hint! My Mum, Dad and Aunty must have been watching people like a hawk! Once piece of advice, if you want to have less stress, find a venue that does EVERYTHING! When you have to do everything yourself, even with the support of your loved ones, it is extremely stressful and you are constantly worrying that you've missed something!- Toni @tschl25 #wedding #weddingstyling – venue: Canungra School of Arts Hall

Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! My dress: the easiest thing I bought! I went to one bridal shop, was totally overwhelmed by all of the dresses and varying colours, met an amazing lady who asked about my theme and colours, she picked out a number of dresses for me to try on, the first one I tried on was THE ONE! Who would've thought! Just in case I was in a 'bridal-daydream' I tried on a couple of others but went straight back to my first dress. It also helped when I saw one of my girls crying (out of happiness, of course!) when I walked out of the change room wearing that dress. It was beautiful, comfortable and just felt right. The lady then got me to stand on a pedestal to see the dress in all of it's glory, fitted me with my veil and all of the accessories, including bouquet, and had my girls try on varying dresses to see what would work best. After 3 hours, we were out of there, ALL dresses ordered and paid for! It also helped that I put the bridesmaid dresses in the girls' hands. I wanted them to feel comfortable (some of them are very booby!) and beautiful and it paid off! – Toni @tschl25 – photo by @specialmemoriesphotos – dress by @thebridalcompany

Today is a Dan & Toni Instagram takeover! D&T were married at Beechmont recently and today Toni's taking over my Instagram and sharing their wedding planning story on #HamiltonWeddingInstagramTakeover! The boys suits… the most difficult and annoying element EVER! If anything could go wrong, it was saved up just for our suit hire. We placed an order for suit hire about 5 months in advance thinking that if we did it early, everything would be fine. First thing, we bought the shoes, got them home, checked them a couple of weeks later, some were dark brown and some were tan !!. Took them back, staff blamed us for not checking them and then tried to say the leather was Tan but it was just different colours (ummmmm….. NO!). Got the shoes sorted and then the boys went in to try on the suits two week prior to the wedding… the wrong ties (2 ivory and 4 black… WHAT?!!), the wrong hanks (2 ivory and 4 SHINY black…. ARGH!). Went back, tried to get the right ties and hanks… sales lady says there are none available and that we will have to make do with what we had. Eventually the lady found all of the right ties (had to ring around to all other stores) but we had to go with Daniel wearing the original black hank and the boys wearing the shiny ones inside out… by this stage I had lost all feeling and emotion; I was over it! To top it off, an hour before the ceremony, the boys went to put their shoes on with Daniel discovering he had two left shoes in the box! Lucky for us, Daniel's mates are the best. One of them had a pair of brown shoes from their wedding, in the exact same size, for Daniel to borrow! The boys also ran back and forth the week before, helping pick up stuff for the wedding, set up the ceremony, reception and games areas and contact the suit hire place to take the pressure off of us. Sometimes, no matter how organised you are, things will just go wrong! The best piece of advice I can give is to roll with the punches, delegate jobs, lean on your family and friends and BREATHE! – Toni @tschl25 pic by @specialmemoriesphotos
